nostalgia and happiness, juxtaposed with ominous symbols and dark undertones

Nathen Mazri’s art is a commentary on the prominence of junk food and the deceptive advertising tactics used by the food industry to sell their products with hazardous ingredients. He exposes the truth behind processed foods by using pop cultural and familiar food images that create a sense of nostalgia and happiness, juxtaposed with ominous symbols and dark undertones. He uses the Nutrition Facts Table as a powerful symbol of this movement, transforming it into a stark black to represent the negative health effects and hazardous ingredients we can’t pronounce.

NathenEATS challenges the dominant processed food industry and advocates for clean label products movement. Mr. Mazri incorporates elements of joy, childhood, and positivity into his visual collage works to make them more entergaging, wickedly fun, and thought-provoking.

By using playful and imaginative visual elements, he makes it easier for viewers to connect with these important issues and take action towards healthier eating habits.

Clean label Product = Clean Ingredients

Clean label Product = Clean Ingredients

The FDA doesn’t have an official ruling of the term “natural” or all-natural”. Because of that, you’ll see that term on products that aren’t really all that natural. Clean Label means moving away from highly processed ingredients and toward whole ingredients from natural sources.  The end goal is to be “Simply honest” about what’s in your product to allow consumers to make educated buying decisions. “Processed food is meant to be played with, not to be eaten” says Nathen Mazri. NathenEATS art employs a combination of collage techniques, incorporating food, processed ingredients, and packaging, to convey a message about the significance of consuming  clean  ingredients and unprocessed foods.
